Medium B+W Shot of Rose

Introduction

Rose Stone joined her first band, the Stewart Four, at age 5.  Today she is known as a lead vocal singer and keyboardist of Sly and the Family Stone.

Coming from the San Francisco bay area, they took the world by storm.  Rose, the middle sister of Sly Stone and Freddie Stone, has seen it all - from the civil rights movement to Woodstock to Madison Square Garden.

She sang before the King of Morocco and has performed in the largest venues around the world.

Rose was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Rhythm and Blues Hall of Fame with several gold and platinum records.  In 2006, The Family was honored at the Grammys.

This year, Rose celebrates 40 years in the entertainment business.
